During Ramadan a total of £1662.00 was raised to give gifts to over 70 Muslim children in care. The gifts were made up of chocolates, books and dolls, all of which served as an instrument for further developing the child’s understanding of their Islamic faith.
This project was made possible for the second year through the support of Luton Borough Council’s Fostering team to whom we are grateful.
The local authority Children & Learning Service Manager prepared this letter to thank you all for your generous contributions:
Thank you for your email. I would like to say a huge thank you on behalf of Luton Borough Council to yourself and your colleagues at Discover Islam for your very kind donation of Eid gifts to our looked after children. They did indeed bring a smile to children’s faces and were very much appreciated.
I hope that we can continue to develop our joint working because as you say it is really important that children do not lose their identity and our carers can benefit enormously from the knowledge and support available through your organisation.
Please accept my thanks and do pass them on to your colleagues also.
